Re-opening of Panaga Golf Club (PGC)

Dear Golfers,

Great news.  Panaga Golf Club will be re-opening on Wednesday, 20th May 2020.  The course is looking in great shape and we are all looking forward to getting back out there.  The specific guidelines for the course, range and shop will be published shortly.  The main elements will be:

  • The course will be bookable one day in advance, with tee-off times at 15min intervals (starting on 1 or 10)

  • You must use the BruHealth App (a QR code will be at the entrance) – temperature checks will be carried out and soap/hand sanitiser will be available and must be used on entry.

  • We will start with 9 holes per member per day, but as soon as we see that there is not too much congestion, we aim to increase this to the full 18 holes

  • Buggies will be allowed, but only 1 golfer per buggy

  • Flights will be a maximum of 2 golfers

  • The range will also need to be booked – similar to our earlier opening

  • The shop will be open, but only a maximum of 3 customers should be inside at any time

If you do not comply with the above rules, you will be expelled from the course. The committee will review the above guidelines and amend them as appropriate – please give any feedback on the arrangements to the club office or on email via

Green 7 and 13

The green at hole 7 has been re-seeded, we will allow play, but we ask golfers to be particularly careful in the clearly visible repaired areas.

The green at hole 13 has been damaged by bicycles – it remains playable, but will take time to recover. PGC are reviewing security video and together with the Panaga Club and BSP will recommend severe action against the culprits. If you have any information as to this incident pls contact us.

Mr Ajay Shah has been Treasurer of PGC for over two years now, but is due to move by the end of the year. Luckily a recent new arrival – Mr Marcel Mulder – who has managed golf courses in the Netherlands for many years, and is here in Brunei with his working spouse, has kindly agreed to take over. He and Ajay will begin a handover and Marcel will takeover on 1st September.

Golf Shop

The PGC shop has been in operation under Danny Tan, our beloved and long term PGC member, for about 20 years.  Sadly, Danny has decided to stop running the shop and the current arrangement will end on May 31st.  Your PGC committee have looked at a number of options, and have decided to bring the shop and range operations in house under PGC.  There will be a more limited range of products in the shop, however we do have some exciting plans for the future.  We hope to continue with our dear shop manager Palani, and with the golf buggies - depending on negotiations with Danny!  The new Treasurer has many ideas on how to manage and improve the shop and will welcome suggestions from members.
