Insurance Cover
The Panaga Golf Club is a separate sports division under the Panaga Club, and as such is covered by the Club's Public Liability Insurance covering members and authorised guests and visitors. Please note that guest and visitors who have not joined the Panaga Club on a temporary day membership (or longer) are not covered by the Panaga Club insurance, and unless they have personnel private golf insurance, they are not eligible to play golf (or any other activity) at the Panaga Golf Club.
Below is a brief summary of the Panaga Club's Insurance Cover.
Panaga Club Public Liability Insurance
- Panaga Club Insurance covers only those events which are officially Club related, where members participate under the name of the Club. It does not cover those activities where members participate on their own accord.
- Insurance does not cover liability of any persons on Club premises who have not registered as temporary members, guests or approved visitors (e.g. caddies & friends). In the event of an accident involving such visitors, the members involved may be personally liable. It is therefore advised that all members' visitors to the Club are properly registered as temporary members.
- If you travel outside Brunei, Malaysia or Singapore the Panaga Club Third Party Liability Insurance is NOT valid.
As a Member of the Panaga Golf Club
- The Panaga Club has Public Liability Insurance which covers the Panaga Golf Club.
- This includes, the Panaga Club (and its employees), members, temporary members, guests, approved visitors.
- The Insurance covers Third Party claims against the Insured for damages or compensation for bodily injury (including death & illness), damage/loss of property resulting from an accident arising out of Club business or activities.
- Limit of Cover as follows:
- General Liability - B$5m per incident up to a maximum of B$20m p.a.
- Personal Effects - B$500 per incident up to B$50,000 p.a. (excluding vehicles) of members.
- Employee's Vehicles - B$2,000 per incident up to B$50,000 p.a. (in the Club's car park).
- Deductible - B$100 any one incident.
- Liability of Club is covered within the territorial limits (land & water) of: Brunei, Malaysia & Singapore.
- However, liability of members to fellow members is covered only for any Club activities whilst using Club facilities.
PGC golf insurance – Effective 1st March 2008
PGC has negotiated golf insurance cover on behalf of all members. This policy offers worldwide coverage – with the exception of USA and Canada. The cover (and, also importantly, the exclusions) of this policy is summarised below. More details are available on the Panaga Club website.
1) Third party liability
- Cover up to B$250 000, includes caddies but not members of the players family (as these are not regarded as third parties). Similarly, Panaga Club members are also not covered under this section as these are also not considered 3rd parties – with the exception that we have agreed that the insurers will cover damage caused by balls hitting to cars parked in the car park up to B$500. (Note that Panaga Clubs’ existing insurance policy provides additional coverage for damage to cars in the club car park).
2) Personal accident
- Cover up to B$ 20 000 – although this only effectively covers very serious accidents resulting in death, loss of eyesight or loss of a limb.
3) Golf equipment and personal effects
- Theft cover up to B$4000 and accidental breakage up to B$250 (but the breakage cover only covers clubs not more than 2 years old). Electronic devices are excluded and there must be evidence of forcible entry for clubs stolen from cars (i.e. you are not covered if you forget to lock your car).
4) Hole in one
- Covers actual expenses of up to B$500 – increased to B$1000 in the case of a hole in one during a tournament.
- This cover is provided at no additional charge to all PGC members. Note however that coverage will cease if you resign your membership of PGC.
