Course Preservation

On the Green

Don’t take a cart or a bag of clubs onto a green and lay the flag stick down rather than let it drop. Avoid dragging or turning your shoes on the green.

Pitch Marks

When a ball leaves a pitch-mark on a soft green take a tee or pitch-mark remover and lift up the edges to make a flat surface again. Repair any pitch-marks made by others also.

Divots

Divots

Avoid unnecessary practice swings that take divots out of the ground. Whenever you take a divot always repair the turf. All players must carry a sand bag, and use it to fill in damage made by their clubs. The P.G.C. Administration Staff can ask players to leave the golf course if they do not carry a sand bag.

Ground Under Repair (GUR)

Sand bag

Never play from ground under repair (marked GUR) nor from within one club length of a blue-stake tree, this isn’t to make your game easier, it is to help new growth by preventing any risk of further damage.

Bunkers

After playing from a bunker, use the rake to smooth out any marks left by your feet and club and always enter and leave by the shortest route, preferably the rear of the bunker.

Never walk or pull a trolley across a bunker as a short cut to the other side. Always walk around.

There are no waste areas on the Panaga Golf Course, and all bunkers must be treated as such.
