Highlights: New 12th Hole
With the opening of the new men’s tee on the 12th hole in November 2005, male members of the PGC were able to try out the new and extended 12th hole. The Flood Management work completed in April and May of 2005 included the complete rebuilding of the fairway, a new pond and the remodelling of the green.
The new men’s tee is located to the left of the former tee and set back a further 10 yards. While the pond is not directly in line between the tee and green, its close proximity certainly focuses the mind.
The raised nature of the new tee also helps to improve the visibility of the new green, although the right greenside bunker has been designed to be obscured from the tee. The hole was completed with the planting over 100 casuarina trees, predominately on the seaward side of the hole.
