Golf course flood management work 2008-2009:. PHASE 2

PHASE 2 PROJECT

 

The second Phase of flood management work will start on 8th September 2008 and to be expected to run until the end of the year.This is the continuation from the first Phase that was successfully completed between December 07 and April 07, hence this will reduce the susceptibilty of the course to flood as well as improving its appearance.

 

 

THE WORKSCOPE:.

This will includes:.

  • Raising the fairways of holes number 1,3,7 and 16 and,
  • Creating new pond between hole number 3 and 7 as well as improving a number of the other ponds, are those at holes number 2,17 and 9/18

The workplan planning has been formulated in order to minimise the disturbance to Panaga Golf Club members example by trying to carrying out as much of the fairway work as possible during the fasting month.

The flood management work will resulting in temporary restriction to some of the holes as the construction is still going on and all golfers are advised:.

  • Not to enter the worksites and,
  • Be mindful that the possibility of and where is required to keep a safe distance from heavy plant movement around the course for a safety purposes

 

 

Tree planting

A tree planting campaign has also been instigated with the objective of improving the visual definition of the holes. Specific thanks are due to Shell Deepwater, BSP’s SEN department, Laporpo golf society, Hardcore golf group, the Panaga Club secretary, Hjh Zaitun, and the forestry department for their support of the tree planting campaign.
