Powerboats & Water skiing

The Powerboat and Water skiing section is an active facility and provides two boats, a larger family powerboat (‘Buccaneer’) and a smaller boat (‘Challenger’) and both boats are used for skiing and short river trips.

The Powerboat section has enthusiastic water skiers, active wake boarders and numerous general river trippers. ‘Challenger’ performs as the main water-ski boat and fast river trip boat while ‘Buccaneer’, as the workhorse, also pleases the wake boarders with its larger wake for jumps and tricks.

‘Buccaneer’ is fitted with a Yamaha 200 HP outboard engine and the extra power and reliability greatly enhances the boat handling and the confidence of our skiers and boat users. ‘Challenger’ is a far smaller boat but still carries a 150HP Suzuki engine and is very well powered for heavy skiers and quick river trips!

Water ski training sessions can be arranged on weekends and these are announced in advance. This involves groups of new and experienced water skiers and wake boarders with normal water ski sets on a rotating basis from the KBBC compound. Bookings are taken in advance and the advantage is that water skiers can turn up, have their two or three sets and then go home!

Alternatively many users like to book the boat and either ski or take river trips under their own arrangements.
